The work operates in the register of Balkan trash culture, and does so as strategy rather than stylistic default. Reactionary nationalism in the region trades in high seriousness — an abstract tradition, an equally abstract Bulgarianness, a wonderful past that admits no verification — and humour is among the few instruments capable of puncturing that seriousness without adopting its terms. The installation stages an unresolved collision between queer sexuality and homophobic pseudo-patriotism, setting nationalist iconography against the artist's contemporary living body: present, exposed, unmistakably in the here and now. Its central demand is temporal. Against a politics organised around restoration, the work insists on futurity — and turns the slogan's own logic against it, since to make something queer again is to assert that it always was.

At the centre of the installation, the clothes and objects from the journey are arranged in a circle on the floor. The gesture is quiet against the noise of the photographic material: an enclosure, a marked-out territory, ground capable of holding an identity that traditional society has expelled — not a monument, but a perimeter, drawn on the floor of a national institution.
